2009 Season Wrap-up

Dear Parents and Players:

Thank you for being a part of our FIFTH Anniversary season!

Everyone (parents, coaches, and volunteers) involved with the EYFA is part of an organization that is dedicated to providing the BEST experience possible for children participating in flag and tackle football plus cheerleading. In 2009, the EYFA provided flag, tackle, and cheer programs for over 250 children! The EYFA worked hard to provide an all around good experience for your child this year including a trip to Kent State in the pouring rain and the Browns Game Halftime Experience. Overall each of our Head Coaches did a great job keeping the kids interested and taught them how to be good winners by emphasizing hard work, fundamentals, and respect.

We hope that hope that you have seen that ALL of our Coaches and Volunteers work hard to promote and provide a youth sports program that includes:

*Sportsmanship *Team Work *Discipline *Personal Responsibility *Scholastics

Looking ahead to 2010 already, the EYFA has work to do planning another great season of activities and events for the players and their families. There are meetings for our Director to attend as we look to join a new league next season. Also, we will continue to include the volunteers, all parents, and coaches in monthly meetings as we discuss current and planned events in the EYFA. These meetings allow everyone to hear firsthand the latest news and provide an excellent forum to have questions and concerns answered by the EYFA. Send me your email and I will include you in the mass email for the schedule of EYFA Meetings.

We are confident that 2010 will be a very successful season and that you will be there with us as we show off our kids every Saturday! We have plans to promote the EYFA even more next year through the newspaper, our own Newsletter, and the continuous use of our website.

The 2009 Above and Beyond Volunteers

Dana Abfall – The Equipment Manager and all around volunteer for the EYFA for anything that needs to be done.

Rita Abfall – The Registration Coordinator who this season made it very organized to have our entire player’s information in individual team books.

Bill& Erin Smith – Thank you to Erin for working at our Gameday Concession Stand. And Thank You to Bill for taking care of the Flag Field every Saturday plus other events we have held this year.

Ericka Williams – Managing the Cleveland Browns Concession Stand for the EYFA. This might be the toughest volunteer position we have to offer. Your time and hard work has not gone unnoticed. THANK YOU.

Lynnette Fowler – Thank you staying with us through the good times and the bad! Thank you for you and your wonderful son AJ at all of our events and helping to get things done. Thank you for your endless loyalty and support.

The MARQUEZ Family – For establishing a great concession stand EVERY Saturday-All season long for our families and visiting teams/families to enjoy while at the field. The Concession Stand raised almost $2000 for the program. Your help can never be thanked enough. Great family, Thank you.

Angela Gallman – The Cheer Director and all around excellent volunteer for the EYFA. The Cheer Program looked great this season. Thank you for the GREAT HOMECOMING SATURDAY. Wow – Very Nice Work. Also, thank you for the hard work on our first attempt at a BBQ Dinner Fundraiser. Looking forward to next year already!

Tara Lee – Thank you for your time at Registration way back in June and July. Thank you for being there handing out cups and pies. Thank you for working on donations for the EYFA to use at the Golf Outing and tonight. Looking forward to moving forward with you as our Scholastics Coordinator in 2010!

Mike Knapp – Website Manager. Thank you for bringing the EYFA into the new ages on the internet! The site looks great and I am looking forward to working with you to make it even better next year.

ALL THE HEAD COACHES - For taking great care of the children that parents sign up to learn the greatest game on earth. Thank you for the countless hours on the field, the endless cell phone conversations with parents and other coaches, picking after kids that do not belong to you, and making sure that every player always got home safely. IT WAS A VERY GOOD SEASON!

All Other BROWNS Concession Stand Volunteers – At this time, this stand and these volunteers are responsible for raising over $3000 for the EYFA that is used to pay for everything from Uniforms to Portable Bathrooms at each field location. Thank You For Your Time!!

To anyone not listed, THANK YOU very much for your time and contribution to our organization. And to the many volunteers stepped forward to work the “Chain Gang” during games and helping get players to practices and games.
